- What is a socially responsible organization?
- It depends on the organization and the needs of the community, but my general definition would be the following. I think socially responsible organizations pay attention to the needs in their community, and take actions to improve the situation. In Milwaukee, socially responsible orgnizations have many opportunities to meet a need. We focus on education and the environment.
- About me
- Vice President and Area Manager of the Milwaukee Office of CH2M HILL. Over 25 years with this company and every day provides a new challenge. We have a terrific group of folks in our office that take social responsibility seriously. Members of my office are heavily involved in Engineers Without Borders, check out their website to learn about being socially responsible on a global level. For Earth Day we organize and lead a clean-up of the section of Honey Creek near our office. We also do clean-up of a stretch of Mayfair Road near Mayfair Mall. I completed Future Milwaukee at Marquette in May 2006, and that has motivated me to keep us involved with the MPS STEM Partners, an organization that is connecting the business community with MPS students so they will consider careers in areas that rely on skills in Science Technology Engineering and Math.
