A SRO consists of people who are aware of, sensitive about and committed to living and working - together - in ways that promote social justice for the common good of all and lead in an ethical, generous, compassionate and loving way toward all people and toward the earth and all its living creatures.
About me
I have been Dean of the College of Professional Studies at Marquette University since the college began in 1994. My professional interests intersect with my commitments to ethical leadership, holistic systems thinking and acting, sustainability, and personal and community transformation. My personal interests include travel, cooking, reading, sharing good meals and wine with family and friends and working out, exercising and meditating on a regular basis.
Prior to my work at Marquette, I taught at Alverno Colleg for several years, and was, at one time, a former Catholic Priest. I spent six years in Rome completing my Doctoral studies in Moral Theology and Philosophical Ethics and during those years, worked or studied in Jerusalem, Israel, Paris, France, Calcutta India (with Mother Theresa) and Durban and Cape Town, South Africa, working in the original Cape Coloured Township of District Six.
I met my wife Anne at Marquette shortly after signing my contract on my 40th Birthday in 1994. We have two Children, Meghan, who is pursuing her art studies at MIAD and Brian who is a Freshman at Marquette University.
