A socially responsible organization is an organization that has processes in place to address any adverse impacts to society from their current as well as their future products, services and operations. In addition a socially responsible organization has processes in place to promote and to ensure ethical behavior in all of its interactions. Finally, socially responsible organizations identify their key communities (could be local, could be global) and determine approaches to support and strengthen those communities.
About me
Peter LaBonte is a Project Leader for the American Society for Quality (ASQ). He has been with ASQ since 1996 and leads a variety of internal process improvement and training activities. In addition he has been actively involved with the Wisconsin Forward Award (WFA) since 2001. He has a BA-French from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.
